Overview

The Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Perth Amboy, Newark and Carteret, NJ. We are currently looking to hire a full-time Pediatric Nurse Manager, this candidate will manage, supervise, and coordinates the operations of the pediatric patient care clinic by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary coordinator of State Vaccine Program
  • Selects, schedules, assigns, and evaluates staff, adjusting hours and shifts, as necessary.
  • Orients new staff and assures that training and education needs of staff are met.
  • Coordinates unit or clinic activities and the work assignments of staff members.
  • Evaluates activities of unit or clinic to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Directs the nursing assessment of all patients.
  • Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physician instructions.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates unit or clinic policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Participates in the development and modifications of unit programs.
  • Markets services of unit or clinic.
  • Participates in infection control, discharge planning, utilization review, case management, and quality assessment activities and analysis.
  • Interprets and enforces department and institution policies.
  • Participates in the development and monitoring of unit budget.
  • Participates in appropriate department and center’s committees.
  • Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records.
  • Inspects rooms and wards for cleanliness and comfort.
  • Accompanies physician on rounds and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.
  • Orders or directs ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints, or refers unusual problems to superior.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                    

Directly supervises 1-6 employees in the Medical Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Registered Nurses License in New Jersey

Ability to Speak Spanish
