Responsibilities

The Women’s Health Nurse Manager manages the women’s health program by advocating for CJMC patients to ensure they are receiving optimum patient care according to standards of practice for women’s health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Able to take directions from medical providers.
  • Advocate for patient needs
  • Delegate responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure ACOG guidelines are followed, and appropriate diagnostic testing and specialty services are ordered for OB patients.
  • Coordinating referrals with referral technician for OB and GYN services
  • Working with insurance companies for patient services
  • Case managing for OB patients.
  • Provide patient education for women’s health issues, including preventive measures (Gardisil, planned parenting, safer sexual practices, STI screenings, prenatal care, post-partum care)
  • Evaluate patient risk factors (social, economic, safety, substance abuse, nutritional)
  • Work with social service and outpatient agencies to coordinate care ( Nurse Partnership, WICC, TANF, VNA, Maternal Child Consortium)
  • Maintain data logs for women’s health screening (cervical cancer, pap, GC & Chlamydia)               
  • Maintain Data Log for end of year report (HRSA Report go to web site for information required) Keep Log of All OB patients do monthly report, compile data on quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for f/u of results for labs and diagnostic test and ensuring providers receive reports in a timely fashion.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as directed by chief medical officer in compliance with a nursing scope of practice.
  • Ensuring medical assistants are trained in women’s health services.
  • Participate in quality improvement process.
  • Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records.
  • Inspect rooms and wards for cleanliness and comfort.
  •  Orders or directs ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics.
  •  Investigates and resolves complaints or refers unusual problems to superior.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

One to Three years’ experience with women’s health nursing; supervisory experience preferred.

Previous experience in community health center preferred.

 

Education and/or Experience:                                              

Registered Nurse, preferred bachelor’s degree BSN from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Registered Nurses License in New Jersey or NJ Licensed Practical Nurse
