Overview

The LCADC IOP Program Lead is responsible for providing clinical leadership and operational
oversight for the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and other substance use disorder treatment
services. This position serves as the primary coordinator for IOP programming, ensuring the
delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment while supporting program development, regulatory
compliance, patient engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The IOP Program Lead will maintain a clinical caseload, facilitate therapeutic groups, provide
substance use assessments, coordinate treatment planning, and support the expansion of addiction
medicine and behavioral health services throughout the
organization.

Responsibilities

Clinical Services
• Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary
  care team.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment interventions as clinically indicated.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and
federal requirements.

IOP Program Leadership
• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Intensive Outpatient Program
• Oversee program schedules, group assignments, patient flow, and service delivery.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new addiction treatment services and
   programming.
• Support program growth initiatives and patient engagement strategies.
• Monitor program census, retention rates, completion rates, and patient
   outcomes.

Group Facilitation
• Facilitate multiple weekly evidence-based therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Develop and maintain group curricula focused on relapse prevention, recovery skills, emotional
   regulation, coping strategies, trauma-informed care, and wellness.
• Ensure group services meet regulatory and payer requirements.

Care Coordination
• Coordinate care with medical providers, psychiatric providers, social workers, care managers, and
   community partners.
• Establish discharge plans and facilitate referrals to appropriate levels of care.
• Collaborate with community agencies, recovery support organizations, and referral sources to
   support continuity of care.

Quality & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with state licensing standards, Medicaid requirements, accreditation standards,
  and organizational policies.
• Participate in chart audits, quality improvement activities, and program evaluations.
• Assist with policy and procedure development related to addiction treatment services.
• Support preparation for audits, site visits, and regulatory reviews.

Program Development & Outreach
• Assist leadership with the development and expansion of addiction medicine and behavioral health
  services.
• Participate in community outreach and referral development activities.
• Foster relationships with hospitals, detoxification programs, residential treatment providers,
  criminal justice agencies, and community organizations.
• Identify opportunities to improve access to care and enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Required
• Active New Jersey Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) license.
• Minimum of three years of experience working with individuals with substance use
disorders.
• Experience conducting substance use assessments and treatment planning.
• Experience facilitating group counseling services.
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care.
• Strong understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches to treatment.
• Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Preferred
• Experience working within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program
(PHP), Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), or integrated behavioral health setting.
• Experience supervising counselors, interns, or support staff.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI),
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Relapse Prevention
models.
• Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
